Bridgette's Blog - Post It
So I took my art to the streets of Venice for a second time. The print pictured above was created in preparation for my Senior Art show at California College of the Arts in 2015. This print started as a simple cyanotype. A cyanotype is a photographic process that produces a cyan-blue print. Any shape and shadow can be burned onto a piece of this special paper when it is exposed to the sun. After producing the original cyanotype print (above) I scanned and de-saturated the image to create a mysterious/x-ray feel. I then took the black and white image, enlarged and printed it on an ink jet printer. The final floral form evokes a bodily presence due to the large scale.
