Bridgette's Blog - Luna Grey Interior Design

So happy to see my print Bud Vase in this lovely home designed by Luna Grey Interiors. I love how Luna, the designer, is never afraid to use bright color in her projects. I’m super into the color yellow right now, so it's also awesome to see the back of the front door painted in a bold lemon yellow. If you are decorating your own space I like to recommend buying neutral colored furniture. Then you can bring in color through accessories and paint finishes that are easy to change if needed.

Bridgette's Blog - New Painting, Roses

Wall of Roses is the largest painting I have created to date. It is 48"x36" and can be hung either vertically or horizontally. After finishing this painting I want to continue creating large paintings on canvas. I love how much detail can be captured by working in this format. Check out the painting process for Wall of Roses on my YouTube Channel

Bridgette's Blog - New Year Interior Design Project

My parents recently moved into a new home. I was able to help them design and decorate the living space. I love the Dryden Sofas and Elke Round Glass Coffee Table both from Crate & Barrel. We chose to accessorize the space with green and orange colored accessories. I hung three of my Paint & Petals paintings on the main wall. We framed each painting in white 18”x24” wood frames. When you are framing art on paper there is special glass you can buy that is UV protective and less reflective. I like how the two side paintings have white backgrounds and frame the middle painting. The middle painting is full of green tones that tie the rug and fiddle leaf fig plant in with the rest of the room.

Bridgette's Blog - Wine Label Design
wine labels for blog.jpg

As many of you already know I was a graphic design major until the middle of my junior year at California College of the Arts. The skills I learned at that time in my life enable me to create graphics and products with my floral paintings. I have been working with a wine marketing and distribution company called Merchant23. Together we created a line of wine labels featuring my artwork. We are currently in the final design stages of the project. Fingers crossed – I hope to see some of these on actual bottles soon!

Bridgette's Blog - Mural Mock Ups

Another one of my goals is to start creating murals. I made three mock-ups using elements found in my fine art paintings. I have submitted these to a company called Beautify Earth in LA. Beautify Earth helps artists get mural commissions. I am open to creating one of these in the Bay Area as well. If you are reading this and know of a wall in need of some public art please let me know!

Bridgette's Blog - Pattern Making Part II

One of my goals is to create and license patterns and designs. I have been working on creating patterns derived from my paintings. I hope to participate in NYNOW or Surtex, where I can market and sell my products. The patterns pictured here are available for licensing. I'm thinking these patterns would be nice on a pillow or quilt!

Bridgette's Blog - Wedding Table Number Designs

One of my childhood friends recently got married. She asked me to design the table numbers and name cards for her wedding reception. Together we designed and utilized three different floral graphics. The bright floral graphics added a pop of color to the green and white centerpieces. Collaborating with my friend and celebrating with her on her big day was fantastic!

Bridgette's Blog - Pattern Making

Throughout the remainder of this year I am going to focus on designing patterns using my floral forms. My goal is to create patterns that translate well into graphics for fabrics. Eventually I would like to create a line of textiles that can be used for both clothing and home decor.

Bridgette's Blog - Oh Joy! Feature

One of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram is Oh Joy! The company is owned by the cutest mom of two. Oh Joy’s aesthetic is bright and bold much like my paintings. They are located in Silverlake, CA., not too far from my West Hollywood studio. I reached out to Oh Joy’s team to see if I could gift them two of my floral paintings. They said, “yes!” It was such a treat for me to see their workspace and ultimately see the paintings I gave them in their social media content! Check out more of their cute colorful content on the Oh Joy! Blog

Bridgette's Blog - July Art Styling

I used a graphic style in my painting submissions for this month at Serena and Lily. My favorite paintings form a 3-part series and are pictured in the mock-up on the left. A Serena and Lily customer bought all three! Since this recent purchase by a happy customer, Serena and Lily contacted me and asked me to create ten black and white paintings in the same style for their Westport, CT. retail store. These will be on display September 8th. I am going to continue to create paintings that can be hung nicely together.

Bridgette's Blog - Anthropologie July Pop Up Shop

Mid-July I hosted one of my favorite pop-up shops so far! As many of you know, I have participated in Anthropologie’s Locally Yours pop-up program a number of times. The last two were at the Walnut Creek store. I love doing pop-ups there because it’s a great excuse to visit the Bay Area and see family and friends! Check out the YouTube video above!

Bridgette's Blog - Anthropologie June Pop Up Shop

This was my first time hosting a pop-up shop at the Walnut Creek Anthropologie. It was a great opportunity to showcase my new line of smaller prints as well as my custom phone cases. The weekend was packed as it was also my friend’s birthday! I left directly from the pop-up shop to go sailing on the San Francisco Bay.

Bridgette's Blog - Hydrangea Commission

One of my favorite paintings to date is Blue Hydrangeas. This painting was in the works for quite awhile. I was originally contacted about doing this commission last December (2016), but the family had quite a bit going on at the time. We agreed on the concept for the painting in May. This painting is one of my most developed and took a lot of time! It was also super special because I made a timelapse video while I created it. The most difficult part about creating the video was making sure the lighting and camera were all set up before jumping into the painting each time.
